Lovely to have you back here Emily and thank you for sharing this list of gorgeousness. January was full for us too, both of my children’s birthdays fall in January so it was very celebratory. We also had a trip away from the UK for some warmth which was like a balm (although I found it strange to get my head around leaving winter behind!) xx

It feels so good to be back! Oh this sounds like so much fun, an exciting way to begin 2024. I hear you!! Our first winter in Florida felt very strange, sometimes the warmth still takes me by surprise! xx

I’ve recently made vanilla cupcakes with lemon curd icing (the icing really made these), potato soup with bacon, sour cream and cheddar, and Amish beef and noodles. Nothing too crazy but all comforting in their own ways.

In Feb, I’m looking forward to starting my daily mindfulness posts, and longer days with more daylight. I’m an early bird (usually wake around 445) and am so eager for the sun to come up earlier than 7am 😆

Welcome back! Love so much that you enjoyed your cozy slice of winter! Sounds like you had a ton of delicious food, too! Winter is the best time for new comfort food. I've been making my fair share of little comforts.

Sounds like overall, you've had a fabulous January & can you believe it's already over? Moving on to longer, brighter days ahead.

Loved reading this list - glad you had a lovely trip back home! Love the sound of finding the shell for a beeswax candle and Divine Rivals sounds great, have downloaded the sample on my Kindle. January delights for me have been: enjoying writing in my journal daily, seeing my youngest enjoy himself in his new toddler music class, enjoying the winter sun in my conservatory and buying some daffodils and putting them in little vases around the kitchen ❤️ 🌼

Jenna these are all so lovely!! There's something so special about being in a conservatory when the weather is cold. I was so happy to see some daffodils popping up in Wales while we were home. Sadly the weather never gets cold enough to have them over here! Enjoy some of their sunshine for me x

Yay! New Emily newsletter! I have so much to say about this: firstly, Dishoom is the best. Truly one of my favorite restaurants in London! You’re like the millionth person this week to rave about Julius Roberts’ cookbook, so this just confirms I need it :) and all of the coffee shop and restaurant recs! adding them all to my list.

I just read Fourth Wing and Divine Rivals. Heard so much about both of them but I'm usually one to not read stuff that has a lot of hype haha! But I really enjoyed them both. They're very different but the whole world creation feels exciting and fun. What are you reading? I'd love some recommendations if you have any! x
